Dear Pet Parents,
As we approach summer, we are excited to spend more time with your pups and bring out the best in every dog! Our indoor playrooms are air-conditioned, ensuring a comfortable environment during the hot summer days. We will continue to provide constant access to fresh water and delicious cool treats to keep the dogs comfortable as temperatures rise. Don’t forget to add a frozen Kong, frozen yogurt, or pup cup for a refreshing midday snack! All five outdoor play yards now feature pools for a cool dip.
To ensure that all the dogs in our care remain happy and healthy, here are a few reminders:
- Flea and Tick Prevention! Warmer weather means more time outdoors, which also increases the risk of exposure to fleas and ticks. It’s important to use safe and effective options to protect your dogs. Please consult with your veterinarian to choose the best preventative product for your dog’s lifestyle. If you notice any fleas on your dog, please refrain from bringing them to daycare until the fleas have been eliminated. Once our trails open, we encourage all participating dogs to stay current on flea and tick prevention.
- Punch Cards! Don’t forget about our punch card program. For every 10 visits, you earn one day of free daycare or day camp! We track this for you, so you have one less thing to worry about.
- Vaccines! Our top priority is keeping our dogs healthy, safe, and happy! Please be sure to check the expiration dates of their vaccines. Since some veterinary clinics have limited appointment availability, it’s important to schedule appointments well in advance of the expiration date. If your vet clinic doesn’t have openings before your vaccines expire, consider looking into local vaccine clinics. VETCO at PETCO in West Bend holds vaccine clinics on select Wednesdays and Saturdays each month, so be sure to check them out! We don’t want your pup to miss a day of playing with friends!
- Grooming! As the weather gets warmer and the rain causes mud, your dog could benefit from a grooming appointment. If you’d like to schedule a grooming appointment while your dog is in daycare, please let us know! Keeping dogs cool during the summer months begins with a healthy coat, and we’re here to help. Need a quick wash after hours, don’t forget about our 25/7 self-service dog wash!
- Trail Exploration! Many of you have inquired about the opening of our new walking trails! The trails are open and we are excited to announce that we will hold an official ceremony to celebrate the launch of our scenic and serene trails on August 16 from 2pm-4pm. Stay tuned for more details coming soon! In the meantime, you can add “trail exploration” to your dog’s daycare or boarding stay. We will provide an additional waiver for signing that allows dogs to join in on the fun! Please note that trail exploration is dependent on the weather. We will use our judgment to determine what is safest for your pet. Also, we plan on organizing several training sessions focused on loose leash walking for those interested in participating. We invite all pet parents to join in on the fun!
- Retail! Did you know that we have a retail area? We sell logo wear and are excited to introduce the famous Weiss Walkie No Pull Dog Leash! If you’re not familiar with Weiss Walkies and your dog tends to pull while walking, please see Rachelle for more information. Additionally, we offer various sizes of the side release buckle collars, which we recommend for use in our facility.
- Photos! We take immense pride in the fantastic job our staff does to capture pictures of the pups in our care. We strive to showcase every dog on our Facebook page; however, as our numbers increase, it may become challenging to feature every dog consistently. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. If you don’t see your dog one day, they may be featured the next. Additionally, if you would like a personal photo of your dog sent to you, we offer this service for $5. Thank you for understanding.
